Climate trend
In 2002, February and March were characterized by a dry climate with fairly cold temperatures, even if there were no frosts. Modest rainfall followed in April and May, accompanied by a significant rise in temperatures. Flowering was good and occurred in the normal timeframe. The summer months were quite rainy, with medium-high temperatures. In September there were numerous thunderstorms of considerable intensity, alternating with very hot days. The few weeks before harvest helped to increase the quality of this vintage, compared to previous expectations.
